Issue with Google Talk 'Show current music track' and Winamp

A lot of people have (including me) have been facing a series of crashes when using the ‘Show Current Music Track’ feature of Google Talk and Winamp (5.531 in my case). I Googled and found that there were a lot of solutions that did not work, including one from the folks at Google itself which asks you to install the latest version of Talk. But the solution is a simple less-than-a-minute fix. Here it is:

1. Exit Talk and Winamp.
2. Browse to your Winamp installation folder.
3. Create a new file and name it winamp.m3u
4. Open Talk, Winamp
5. Set status to ‘Show Current Music Track’.
6. Done!
